„If Keynes were alive today, what would he think of President Obama’s fiscal policies?“, Allan Meltzer of Carnegie Mellon was asked in an interview published on the cnn website. And he answered that Keynes would not be very happy because „Keynes was opposed to large structural deficits“ and contrary to the current administration understood that „today’s increase in debt must be paid in the future“. So in the end Keynes would be no proponent of Obama’s stimulus plan.
